The City of Guntersville offices will be closed on Monday, September 2, 2019 in observance of Labor Day. Recycling will be a day late. Residents normally receiving recycling on Mondays will receive service on Tuesday. Those with regular Tuesday service will receive pickup on Wednesday. Gunter’s Landing will receive both recycling and garbage pickup on Tuesday. All other residential garbage service will be on regular schedule.

2020 US Census

City Brush Truck Routes
The City of Guntersville’s three brush trucks run routes approximately every week depending on what the needs are. This service runs on a regular basis and debris needs to be placed at the curb. We do not do “on-call” pick ups.
The pickup routes are:
*Scott Street and all of Downtown including the alleys
*Sunset Drive, Willow Beach and the Creek Path area
*Lowes to Happy Home, Spring Creek and Highway 79
*Gunter’s Landing, Signal Point, Highway 227 and Wyeth Drive
For immediate disposal, debris can be taken to the Marshall County Transfer station in Albertville located at 224 Rives Road phone number 256-891-2944

Modified Garbage and Recycling Schedule for July 4th 2019
The City of Guntersville will be closed on Thursday, July 4th, in observance of Independence Day. Residential recycling will be on the regular schedule. Regular Thursday residential garbage service will be picked up on Wednesday. Please note that garbage should be out by 6 a.m. as pickup may be a little earlier or later than usual on the modified schedule. Residents with Friday garbage service will receive pickup on their normal day.

* The following streets will be closed to thru traffic from Thursday, June 27th from 9:00am until Sunday, June 30th at 12:00 midnight: Sunset Drive from the Water Treatment Plant to Highway 69 and Patterson Street from O’Brig Ave to Sunset Drive except for residents *The right lane of Hwy 69 on the Warrenton Causeway coming in from Arab to Guntersville will be closed (not sure about the timing on this one)
* Guntersville Rec Center including the pool will be closed Friday 28th – Sunday 30th no Night Swim on Thursday 27th
* Senior Center closed Thursday, June 27th thru Sunday June 30th
* Boat ramps at Tom Jackson Park and Brown’s Creek beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26th and not reopen for public use until 8:00 a.m. on Monday, July 1st. These ramps will serve as the pit areas for four classes of race boats.
The racecourse will be located to the left of Ala. Hwy 69N. Access to this area of Lake Guntersville will be closed to personal watercraft Friday, June 28- Sunday, June 30 from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day.
For spectators that wish to view the races by water, the Beech Creek ramp, located on Warrenton Road, will remain open. For anyone wishing to leave the viewing area during active racing, this ramp will need to be utilized. Boats may launch at Beech Creek and watch the races from outside the course area. There will be no personal watercraft allowed under the Ala. Hwy 69 causeway bridge during the race weekend while the course remains active.
*Guntersville Municipal Airport: No Jet-A fuel sold Thursday 27th after 12:00 NOON thru Sunday June 30th. Also the FOB will not be attended to
