Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday August 25, 2020, an election for the purpose of electing a Mayor and City Council by Districts will be held for the following offices: Mayor At Large District 1, District 2, District 3, District 4, District 5, District 6, District 7 All registered and qualified electors of the State who have resided within the municipality for at least 30 days prior to the election may participate in said election. The Polling Place for electors in District 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and Mayor at Large will be opened at the Guntersville Recreation Center, 1500 Sunset Drive, Guntersville, AL 7:00 A.M. — 7:00 P.M. If necessary, a run off election will be held October 6, 2020. Statement of Candidacy forms will be available at Guntersville City Hall at the office of the City Clerk beginning at 8:00 A.M. on July 7, 2020 until July 21, 2020 at 5:00 P.M. Any qualified elector desiring to become a candidate in such election must file a duly sworn statement of candidacy and have lived in their district 60 days prior. The qualifying fee is $50.
The City of Guntersville will be closed on Friday, July 3rd in honor of Independence Day. Recycling this week will be on regular schedule, but garbage will be a day early. Regular Thursday residential garbage service will be picked up on Wednesday and regular Friday garbage service will be picked up on Thursday. Gunter’s Landing
