Guntersville Reservoir Herbicide Treatment Schedule July 19th – July 23rd, 2021
TVA will continue its Aquatic Plant Management Program on Guntersville Reservoir for the 2021 season during the week of July 19th through July 23rd, 2021. This will include areas along residential and commercial shoreline as part of the Lake Guntersville Stakeholder Program as well as developed public access areas. Those areas scheduled for treatment can be found below. Treatments will be made in no particular order and are weather dependent. For a list of areas treated during 2021 as well as treatment area maps, please visit tva.com/aquaticplants under “Aquatic Weeds Treatment Schedule”.
*Honeycomb Creek – Honeycomb Public Ramp (upstream Hwy 431), Honeycomb Public Ramp (downstream Hwy 431), Sunrise Marina
*Polecat Creek – Rayford Tucker Public Ramp, portions of Morrow Acres Subdivision, portions of Hideaway Acres Subdivision
*Boshart Creek – Holiday Shores Subdivision
*Mud Creek – Mud Creek Public Ramp, Carver’s Day Use Area, Nacoochee Point Subdivision

Essential Function:
- Collects garbage from residential and commercial containers.
- Assist in emptying filled sanitation trucks.
- Collects recyclables, sorts, and prepares for shipping
- Performs related work as assigned or required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Some knowledge of equipment used in sanitation work.
- Ability to understand and follow simple oral & written instructions.
- Ability to operate simple machinery.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the general public, supervisors, and co-workers while performing tasks with courtesy and tact.
- Ability to work overtime hours when necessary.
- Ability to perform essential functions of the job.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possess and maintain a valid Alabama driver’s license with driving record suitable for insurability.
Physical Requirements:
- Sufficient physical strength to lift at least 60 pounds and carry to the truck; ability to walk 8 hours a day, step, climb, squat, push, and pull.
- Sufficient physical strength and agility to perform manual labor and to work in very cold and hot temperatures and work in inclement weather.

Special Election for Ad Valorem Tax Increase to Benefit the Guntersville City Schools
2021 Special Election for Ad Valorem Tax Increase to Benefit the Guntersville City Schools will be held May 11th from 7am – 7pm at the Guntersville Recreation Center. You can request your application for an absentee ballot at 256-571-7560 or visit the link below, and those must be requested by May 6th. Absentee ballot applications must be returned in person by the applicant or mailed in to City Hall. Only those registered to vote in the City Limits of Guntersville can vote in this election.
Traffic Flow at Recreation Center for General Election
We are anticipating a high turnout of voters for the General Election on November 3, 2020. If you vote at the Guntersville Rec Center, please be aware of the following traffic and parking information:
• There will be plenty of parking spaces available on the North Side of the Rec Center (in between the Gym & Hwy 69 – near the ball fields). Please utilize those spaces.
• Guntersville Police Department will provide temporary traffic control by limiting the entrance and exit to the Rec Center. You will only be allowed entry by turning right into the Main entrance of the Rec Center off Sunset Drive and will only be able to exit the Rec Center parking lot by turning right onto Sunset Drive. The left turn lane will be closed.
