July 4th Fireworks Show
UPDATED INFORMATION ON LOCATION – Please help us spread the word:Due to safety reasons beyond our control, the 4th of July fireworks show will NOT be shot from a barge in the lake. The fireworks will be shot from the end of the parking lot between Bill Moore and Wedgeworth baseball fields over the lake. This entire parking lot will be closed to the public. The fireworks show will be viewed best along Sunset Drive in the area between Guntersville Middle School and the Guntersville Recreation Department. The fireworks are scheduled for Sunday, July 4th at 9:00 pm. We hope you enjoy the show…Happy Independence Day!
Mountain Valley Arts Council will have a free concert at Civitan Park 7:00 – 9:00pm featuring The Bonaires before the Fireworks Show!
Fraudulent Checks
Please be aware that fraudulent/forged checks are being presented to be cashed from the City of Guntersville. The checks are counterfeit and are not from the City. There is an ongoing investigation but, before you cash a check, please contact City Hall at 256-571-7560 to see if it is a valid check and contact the Guntersville Police Department at 256-571-7571 to speak with an investigator.
Garbage Pickup Modification due to Good Friday Holiday
The City of Guntersville will be closed on Friday, April 2nd in observance of Good Friday. Recycling pickup will be on normal schedule. However Thursday trash pickup will be on Wednesday and Friday’s trash pickup will be on Thursday.

Recycling schedule modification for Martin Luther King Jr Day
The City of Guntersville will be closed on Monday, January 18th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr Day. Recycling pickup will be a day late, Monday’s normal pickup will be on Tuesday and Tuesday’s normal pickup will be on Wednesday. The garbage route will run as normal.
