The City of Guntersville is now accepting applicants for 2 vacant positions on the Guntersville City School Board. The first term will run through April 2030 and the other thru April 2031. Applicants may send letter of interest along with their resume to Mayor Leigh Dollar at mayordollar@guntersvilleal.gov or info@guntersvilleal.gov . They can also be mailed or hand delivered to City Hall at 341 Gunter Ave, Guntersville AL, Attention Mayor Dollar. The letter of interest and resume must be submitted no later than February 27th, 2026 at 4:30pm.
Candidates are required to live within the City limits of Guntersville, be a person of good moral character, obtained a high school diploma or its equivalent, not be employed by the city board of education, not serving on the governing board of a private elementary or secondary educational institution, not be on the National Sex Offender Registry or the state sex offender registry, and not be convicted of a felony (Alabama Code Title 16. Education § 16-11-2).
